Roger Marsh’s Models
Roger, who died recently after a short illness from which he was expected to recover, was a very active member of the Guild and brought an ever changing selection of models to most of the Guild’s local events. Many of his models, particularly those made from Plastic Meccano were of his own design but other were challenging ones designed by others.
Although quite seriously disabled, he got about as well as most fully able people, even cycling fairly long distances in search of Meccano in charity shops.
He will be particularly remembered for his cheerfully interaction with visitors, both young and old, to our events.
He lived alone in his house in Flixton where he was caught unawares, up a ladder by a Google cameraman.
A selection of pictures of his models, taken by various photographers, appears below.
Some were taken after they had been collected following Roger’s death.
They were taken in the Chairman’s garage by the Treasurer. Not much information was available about them.
